Vitamin D may play active role in diabetes, studies show

Data from two studies found low levels of vitamin D are linked to poor blood sugar control among diabetics and a higher risk of metabolic syndrome for seniors. Researchers who presented the studies at the Endocrine Society's annual meeting said the data show vitamin D has an active role in development of Type 2 diabetes.
