From picky traveler to global publisher

Grant Thatcher writes that while living in Asia in the mid-1990s, he was struck by the "cruddy, boring and unstylish" travel guides available for the region. As a hobby, he began compiling an insider's list of Bangkok's best-kept secrets, only to discover years later that the list had been e-mailed all over the world. That led him to publish his first hard-copy LUXE City Guide in 2002, and today the line has sold more than 1 million copies covering 33 markets.
