Japanese lawmakers approve bill to form new nuclear agency

Legislation to establish a new nuclear regulatory agency cleared Japan's House of Councillors. The Japanese government is expected to boost its efforts to launch an independent "nuclear regulatory commission," which will play an important role in strengthening policies in the aftermath of the Fukushima Daiichi incident, by September.
