Electric taxi system is unveiled at air show

A system that reduces the amount of energy used when a plane taxis down the runway drew attention at the Paris Air Show. The Electric Green Taxiing System, created by Honeywell and Safran, uses the plane's electrical system to power landing gear on the runway, which will cut operational costs, emissions and noise, says Honeywell Aerospace's Brian Wenig, the vice president of the EGTS program.
