HTC slashes exes' pay, reportedly signs Downey Jr. to $12M deal

HTC has taken more steps to recover its faltering global market share, the Taiwanese smartphone-maker revealed in its annual report released today. The company said it cut compensation to top executives by 51% in 2012 when compared to the previous year. At HTC's annual meeting today, chief executive Peter Chou asked for "patience," saying that a new marketing campaign and the HTC One flagship phone will spark a recovery. HTC has signed actor Robert Downey Jr. to a two-year multimedia endorsement deal for the HTC One, according to Bloomberg News, which values the deal at about $12 million.
