Mississippi regulators approve Pinnacle-Ameristar deal

Mississippi gaming regulators approved a $2.8 billion deal for Pinnacle Entertainment to acquire Ameristar Casinos. Pinnacle has agreed to sell two casinos to satisfy antitrust concerns raised by the Federal Trade Commission. "We continue to work diligently to obtain the Federal Trade Commission and remaining state gaming regulatory agency approvals necessary to complete the acquisition. We remain on track to close the transaction in the 2013 third quarter," said Anthony Sanfilippo, CEO of Pinnacle.
