MPI IDs silent ischemia better than ECG in patients with diabetes

Exercise myocardial perfusion imaging performed better than electrocardiogram in pinpointing silent ischemia in patients with diabetes mellitus, according to a study in The American Journal of Cardiology. MPI abnormalities were seen in 26% of patients with diabetes and in 14% of controls, said the study, which included 392 patients with diabetes mellitus and 205 control participants.
