NS partners with Operation Lifesaver for safety event in N.J.

Norfolk Southern partnered with New Jersey Operation Lifesaver to host a rail-safety train ride between Camden and Carneys Point to inform the public about the dangers of disobeying safety practices along crossings such as ignoring stoplights. "It's not worth it to try and beat the train," says Bill Barringer, NS director of grade crossing safety. "Be prepared to yield to the train. It's not worth your life." NS will also participate in a Rail Safety Day event in Tuscumbia, Ala., on Saturday.
