NYC building's "gem-like facade" will let the sunshine in

New York City's "Solar Carve Tower," designed by Studio Gang, makes ample use of natural light that brings sunshine into the residential units and minimizes the shadows that it could cast at the nearby High Line gardens, according to this article. The design was informed by "incident angles of the sun’s rays" -- sort of following "ancient sundial technology." The structure will be topped with a green roof to slow stormwater runoff and improve insulation.
