Rockwell hopes to win cockpit avionics work for 777X

Rockwell Collins is hoping to beat out rival Honeywell in a bid to create the cockpit avionics on Boeing's 777X, whose development is about to begin. The upgrade of Boeing's biggest twin-engine plane offers a prime opportunity for whichever contractor gets that work, as the 777 is a top seller and it's unlikely Boeing will work on another new plane anytime soon.
