Seattle neighborhood awaits edible food forest

Planners are in the early stage of construction of the first two acres of a planned seven-acre "food forest" to serve the Beacon Hill neighborhood of Seattle. The forest, set to open next spring, will feature a mix of fruit and nut trees and other edible plants, along with playgrounds, trails and public gathering places, said co-founder and director Glenn Herlihy.
