Study: Making cars safer with M2M communications technology

Researchers from the Technical University of Munich released a study that found "car-to-x communication," a form of machine-to-machine wireless communications for vehicles, could help save Germany $14.5 billion a year by helping to prevent accidents, optimize travel time and reduce pollution. Mercedes-Benz is implementing the technology in its cars, and several wireless operators are active in the field.
