Philadelphia moves to protect $30 million art collection

The Philadelphia School District has hired art experts to inventory its 1,200-piece collection of paintings currently housed in school hallways, closets and even boiler rooms. To the dismay of some parents and principals, district officials arranged the long-term removal of valuable pieces to restore them and protect them from theft or damage.
