In candy land, gross-out products rule

A recent confectionery industry conference in Chicago featured several gross-out products, such as vomit-flavored jelly beans and "Fear Factor" candy, based on the reality TV show of the same name. While such extreme-flavored candy has been around since the days of "Garbage Pail Kids" in the 1980s and "Harry Potter" in 2000, it is the fastest-growing sector in the $23 billion candy industry, according to the American Wholesale Marketers Association.
