Scientists discover new group of heart stem cells

U.S. researchers have identified new stem cells found in the heart's outermost lining that can become cardiac muscle cells, or cardiomyocytes. They believe that the cells, which can also transform into endothelial cells and fibroblasts, could be used to regenerate damaged heart tissue.
