Nurse inspired by childhood hospital experience

Edith Ouellet says she became a nurse because of the wonderful nursing care she had as a 6-year-old open-heart-surgery patient in New Haven, Conn. Ouellet, who just got her master's in nursing and will teach at Three Rivers Community College in Norwich this fall, says, "I felt that if I could be influential to educating our future nurses, that I would help them understand how important their role is. We have the ability to be leaders in health care, important leaders."
