Survey: 44% of U.S. manufacturers plan to hire in 2010

Forty percent of small and midsized U.S. manufacturers report business is still declining, according to a new report from RSM McGladrey. However, 44% plan to ramp up hiring in 2010 if the economy begins to recover. The report, based on a survey of 923 manufacturers, also found that companies with international sales reported healthier sales than purely domestic companies.
