Michigan area mulls chicken ordinance

An ordinance being considered in Grand Rapids, Mich., seeks to limit the number of chickens that residents can keep. The measure also would outlaw the raising of roosters and slaughtering of chickens. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more people are opting to keep chickens and other fowl, but handling the birds could pose health risks.
