The Orlando City Council voted to negotiate a contract with AstroTurf to install artificial turf at the Citrus Bowl stadium. The final price can't go above $1.5 million, and work is expected to be completed by Sept. 1, according to Allen Johnson, venues director for the city of Orlando. Field Turf, a competing company, has complained that AstroTurf does not hold a Florida general contractor's license. Nevertheless, AstroTurf was recommended by Orlando's turf consultant.
