Study links early menopause to heart problems

Researchers studied more than 2,500 women and found that those who experience menopause before age 46 are more than twice as likely to have cardiovascular disease later in life than women who experience menopause later. Almost 6% of early menopausal women had some sort of heart event compared with 2.6% of women who went through menopause after age 47.
