Are women less social? LinkedIn thinks so

Women are less well-attuned than men to the processes underpinning social networking, according to a report published by LinkedIn. Not everyone's convinced that LinkedIn's finding holds up -- particularly since there are fewer women than men on the site -- but LinkedIn's Nicole Williams says she stands by the findings. "Women can sometimes shy away from networking because they associate it with schmoozing or doling out business cards, when in reality, it's about building relationships before you actually need them," Williams says.
