McDonald's uses social media to customize menus in 2 European markets

McDonald's customers in Germany got a chance to create new burgers through a social media contest that brought 116,468 entries including a meatloaf-and-potato-salad burger on a McRib bun that made the finals. In the Netherlands, a less ambitious use of social media has fans voting on which limited-time sandwiches the chain should bring back next.
