Top vintners say new Web domains could trick consumers

Premium winemakers are planning to fight against new Web domains such as .vin or .wine, which could soon be approved, saying that these domains could confuse consumers about a product's origins and quality. "We feel that we are witnessing the establishment of a globally organized extortion scheme," said European Federation of Origin Wines President Riccardo Ricci Curbastro.
