Dallas schools air back-to-school announcements

Dallas schools officials have teamed up with the Spanish language network Univision to alert Hispanic parents that school begins Aug. 16. With nearly 34,000 students absent on the first day of school last year, DISD hopes the public service announcements, which have already begun airing several times a day, will encourage better attendance.
