WHO issues guidelines on alternative medicines

The World Health Organization said it posted the guidelines to minimize the risk of patients buying alternative medicines over the counter without telling their doctors and then having adverse or even fatal reactions. The guidelines are designed to help national health authorities create reliable information to prevent the unsafe use of the traditional or alternative medicines.
