Internet scams making consumers wary of e-commerce

More than 42% of online shoppers and 28% of people who bank online indicated "phishing" and financial database breaches have caused them to consider cutting back on their online activities, a survey said. This growing distrust of e-commerce could stunt the growth of e-commerce and online banking, which was expected to grow 18% in 2005 before the security concerns, one analyst said.
