Publicis chief warns newspaper industry

Speaking to a reporter at the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival, Maurice Levy, chairman and CEO of Publicis Groupe, said, the "press is facing the fact that people are reading less and also they can get news when they want it for free." He singled out giveaway daily printed tabloids, increasingly popular in cities in the U.S. and Europe, as threatening to erode the paid circulation of major newspapers.
