Governor wants to give each Alaskan $1,200 from oil revenues

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin want to give each state resident $1,200 to subsidize household energy costs. The one-time payments totaling $741 million would come from the windfall the state will collect because of high oil prices. Some legislators say the handouts will make Alaska look like a spoiled rich kid when it seeks federal funds.
