NP clinics gain popularity as primary care numbers shrink

Nurse practitioners Robyn Korte and Leslie Washburn have seen their primary care clinic business in Pittsfield, Mass., grow as the number of primary care physicians in the area shrinks and older doctors stop accepting new patients. A survey of local primary care physicians found 85% now work with nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
