Manufacturers, wholesalers see recovery by end of year, survey finds

Manufacturers and wholesalers predict economic recovery to begin by the end of the year, according to a survey by RSM McGladrey. Survey respondents plan to continue reducing costs, with 52% expected to cut staff this year. "Executives are reporting tough business conditions and as a result, they have taken direct actions to reduce costs," said Tom Murphy, RSM McGladrey's executive vice president of manufacturing and wholesale distribution.
