Texas construction spending falls 45% for first five months of 2009

Construction activity in Texas declined by 45% for the first five months of 2009, compared with the same period in the previous year, according to a McGraw-Hill Construction report. The report found that non-residential construction spending declined 62% and residential construction spending fell 42% in the first five months of the year. Meanwhile, May construction spending fell 31% from the same month in the previous year.
