Treasury seeks clarity over supervision of TARP watchdog

Neil Barofsky, the special inspector general who has been overseeing the Troubled Asset Relief Program since December, reports to both President Barack Obama and Congress. A debate is growing over whether Barofsky should also report to the Treasury, which is seeking a legal opinion because it said the point is unclear.
