FAA grants weight exemption for flying car

The Federal Aviation Administration issued a maximum takeoff weight exemption for a flying car developed by Terrafugia. The exemption will allow the flying car to be classified as a Light Sport Aircraft. The FAA allowed the company to add 110 extra pounds to the flying car for safety features such as air bags, crumple zones and a safety cage.
