Institute offers teachers firsthand training on the U.S. Supreme Court

Thirty social studies teachers recently participated in the six-day Supreme Court Summer Institute for Teachers, where they got a behind-the-scenes look at the nation's highest court. During the training program, teachers learned how cases are selected and the nomination process, among other things. The teachers were selected from 150 applicants. "This is not something you can replicate in the classroom," one teacher said of the program.
