Medicare will begin free colorectal cancer tests in 2011

In January, Medicare will begin covering colorectal cancer screenings, including colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy and fecal occult blood tests, free of charge for the patient, according to CMS. The frequency of testing that is covered is not changing, however, and varies by test and patient risk of the disease.
