Sen. Dodd is at odds with Rep. Frank on mortgage lender exemption

Sen. Christopher Dodd, D-Conn., is standing firm on exempting low-risk mortgages from a rule that would require lenders to retain a financial stake when they securitize loans. Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., wants to include the safest home loans. Dodd and Frank are leading the effort to reconcile the House and Senate versions of the overhaul of financial regulations.
