Simi starts work on LEED-certified transit facility

Workers in Simi Valley, Calif., have broken ground on a new transit maintenance facility that officials say will make the city's public transit system far more environmentally friendly. The LEED-certified building will include a modernized vehicle wash that recycles and filters the water used to hose down the city's buses.
