Teachers in Iowa receive training on autism

A group of Iowa educators and school administrators participated recently in a three-day workshop to improve their methods for teaching students with autism spectrum disorders. Sessions focused on visual rather than verbal teaching and adjusting lessons for students with different forms of the disorder. "We're really looking at how to structure the learning environment to adapt to support their learning," workshop trainer Kathy McCune said.
