Whole Foods sets 1,000-store goal

Whole Foods Market Co-CEO Walter Robb said the retailer expects to have 1,000 stores in the U.S. someday, up from about 300. The company also plans to increase its presence in Canada to 35 stores, up from six. Whole Foods is building exit clauses and buyouts into leases so "if we needed to, we could slow down," Robb said.
