Hospitals use food to boost patient satisfaction

New Medicare rules under the Affordable Care Act call for paying hospitals based partly on patient-satisfaction scores, a shift that's driving more hospitals to find their way to patients' hearts through their stomachs. A growing number are eschewing institutional food programs for anytime room service and chef-driven menus that also drive costs lower and cafeteria sales higher.
