The identity and business purpose of video site Hulu is likely to depend on whether the buyer is a pay-TV provider, such as Time Warner Cable or DIRECTV, or another one of its other reported suitors, which include Yahoo and several financial firms. Time Warner Cable reportedly could use Hulu as a TV Everywhere portal for subscribers, while DIRECTV is said to want to create its own paid Internet TV service. The deadline for offers is Friday, but that date could be pushed back until July.
