Calif. district to offer Mandarin instruction

The Napa Valley Unified School District in California will offer Mandarin instruction five days a week beginning in the fall at American Canyon middle and high schools. Instruction will include online language websites and textbooks. "There's an interest with parents and educators to offer this global language, to know and use in the global economy," director of secondary education Mark Morrison said.
