Memphis landmark hotel sees occupancy jump after makeover

Memphis' landmark cylindrical glass hotel, which recently changed from an Adam's Mark to a Hilton, is sporting a spiffy new look thanks to a $12 million makeover. The 27-story hotel was bought from Adam's Mark by Memphis company Davidson Hotel Co. 16 months ago and the changes appear to be paying off -- the hotel occupancy rates have risen from an average of 45% under the Adam's Mark ownership to 70% in May, and the owners hope to hit 80% this month.
