Low vitamin D linked to higher mortality risk

A new study found that individuals with a vitamin D deficiency are up to twice as likely to die from any cause as people with adequate levels of the vitamin. One researcher said health care providers should be aware of the risks of low vitamin D levels, particularly in older and immobile patients.
