McCain proposes $300M prize for better car battery

Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., this week said that if he becomes president, he will offer a $300 million award to anyone who can develop a battery with "the size, capacity, cost and power to leapfrog the commercially available plug-in hybrids or electric cars." McCain also touched on several other energy issues, such as the need to create more automobiles that run on alternative fuels.
