EPA audit uncovers stormwater violations at Hawaii ports

The Environmental Protection Agency has ordered Hawaii ports to comply with federal Clean Water Act stormwater regulations after an audit by the agency. The audit uncovered fuel, oil and debris in stormwater that was dumped into the harbor from two Oahu cargo ports. "They were missing huge portions of what is required under the permit," said Amy Miller, team leader for the EPA Stormwater and Wetland Enforcement Team.
