German island features sand that "sings"

Germany may not be known for its beaches, but the resort island of Usedom features sand that, under the right conditions, squeaks or sings. Beyond the singing sand, Usedom draws visitors with its spa culture and royal history. The island in the Baltic Sea has long been a popular resort for residents of Berlin, but it is becoming more of a destination for travelers beyond the German capital.
