More Japanese students are learning to use the abacus

A growing number of Japanese parents are enrolling their children in schools where they learn to use an abacus instead of a calculator. Some think that maths education has suffered with reliance on calculators, and supporters of the abacus schools say the technique helps students strengthen their maths abilities.
