NSN, Juniper eye scale in IP-optical convergence

Juniper Networks and Nokia Siemens Networks, already partners in the Ethernet arena, have tightened their bonds further with a deal to integrate their IP and optical-transport technologies to provide a single solution to carriers, they announced Tuesday. The companies say they believe that by pooling their resources they can offer greater economies of scale to carriers to manage their voice, data and multimedia applications more cheaply and efficiently.
