Ohio receives approval for road, bridge stimulus projects

Ohio last week received federal approval to use more than half of its funds allocated under the stimulus package ahead of the June 29 deadline. The milestone means the state may now apply for additional money if other states miss the deadline. However, federal officials expect all the states to meet the deadline. Once the states receive federal approval, they may solicit bids on the projects.
